Building Quantum Computing Competence: Training Programs for Industry, Research and Policy

At the Competence Center Quantum Computing Baden-Wuerttemberg, we offer practice-oriented training formats on quantum computing – from fundamentals and hardware and algorithmic topics through to industrial applications. Depending on the format, our trainings are aimed at decision-makers from industry and policy, developers and technical professionals from industry, as well as researchers and early-career scientists from universities and research institutions. An overview of all current dates is available on the Fraunhofer IAO website

QC Compact: Quantum Computing Basics and Applications

QC Compact is a one-day introductory workshop that provides a concise entry into the world of quantum computing. Participants gain an overview of key quantum technologies, the current innovation ecosystem and its actors, as well as central application scenarios, including the differences between classical and quantum computers, quantum principles such as qubits and superposition, and selected quantum algorithms; optionally, the afternoon session offers insights into different hardware architectures and a visit to the Quantum Lab to experience quantum phenomena first-hand.

The Quantum Computing Industry Training is a three-day intensive program designed to take participants from quantum awareness to genuine quantum readiness. Across four modules—Basics, Hardware, Algorithmics and Application—developers and technical professionals gain in-depth, practice-oriented knowledge, explore different quantum hardware platforms and software stacks, implement simple quantum algorithms, and work on real-world industrial challenges from domains such as logistics, finance, chemistry and manufacturing, translating them into quantum-suitable formulations and company-specific proof-of-concepts.
