flaQship Student Day

In-Person Event | October 22, 2026, 15:30 – 19:30 | Fraunhofer IAO, Stuttgart

How can cutting-edge quantum computing research contribute to real-world applications? And what opportunities are available for students who want to work at the interface of quantum algorithms, high-performance computing, and industrial applications?

The flaQship Student Day invites bachelor’s and master’s students in physics, mathematics, and computer science to explore these questions and gain direct insights into current research activities at flaQship. The event offers an opportunity to meet researchers, learn about exciting master’s thesis opportunities, and discover how students can contribute to shaping the future of applied quantum computing.

The programme focuses on four core research areas:

  • Quantum Computing and Machine Learning
  • Materials Science and Chemistry
  • Quantum Error Correction
  • QC and HPC as a Service

QC Compact: Quantum Computing Basics and Applications

In-Person Training Course | November 03, 2026, 09:00 – 15:00 | Fraunhofer IAO, Stuttgart

Introduction to Quantum Technologies

How does quantum computing (QC) work? What principles do its programming rely on and why does the so-called “quantum advantage” promise disruptive change in almost all industries? This introductory one-day workshop covers the basics of QC, the innovation network and its opportunities and challenges and gaining insights into potential applications.

Quantum Computing Industry Training

In-Person Training Course | November 11, 2026 – November 13, 2026, 09:00 – 17:00 | Fraunhofer IAO, Stuttgart

From Quantum Awareness to Quantum Readiness

Quantum computing offers great potential for solving problem classes that are extremely difficult or currently out of reach for classical methods alone. It is an emerging technology stack that enables developers and technical professionals to tackle specific problem classes in entirely new ways and, in some domains, to achieve massive speed-ups. Our three-day Industry training is particularly designed for developers, engineers, and technically oriented experts from industry who want to move beyond basics: learning how to work with quantum computing in practice. From the required skills to seamless integration into existing software and data workflows.
